We would like to
introduce the Michigan Cavalry History Association (MCHA) as a newly
formed group in Michigan. However, many of our members are not new to
reenacting and living history. We would like to invite anyone
interested in sharing this same “hobby” to join us.
The mission of the MCHA is to educate the public through living history
demonstrations regarding the Michigan Cavalry with an emphasis on the
civil war and post-civil war time period. If invited and schedules allow, our group is interested and willing to participate in reenactment
events throughout the State of Michigan and possibly out of state events
as well.

Members of the Michigan Cavalry History Association are able to
participate in events with period correct equipment and attire as
mounted and dismounted troopers with a cavalry supply wagon and also
civilian participants. Because of their authenticity and historic
knowledge, many members have been advisors for and participated in film
projects with A & E, The History Channel, Warner Brothers and Native Sun
Productions.
The Michigan Cavalry History Association was established in November
2006 as a non-profit corporation with a large contribution through a
very
generous sponsor and cavalry historian. Donations to the MCHA are
tax deductible.
You may also contact the current President of the group, Udo O. J. Huff
at (734)741-1207.

If you would like to share the same ideas of honoring the history of the
Michigan Cavalry, then please feel free to join us. For the beginner
re-enactor, we can lend uniforms, saddle and tack to allow you to “fit
into our new unit”.
